If you inherited a heavy brow, or want to rejuvenate your upper face, a brow lift may be the appropriate procedure. The surgery can be combined with other facial rejuvenation surgeries or non-surgical treatments for a more thorough result.
How Does a Brow Lift Work?
Brow lift procedures have evolved over the years. The latest techniques are performed endoscopically. This is an advanced approach in which a tiny camera is inserted through small incisions, so the interior structure of the brow can be evaluated, after which tiny surgical instruments are used to tighten and lift the underlying structure with sutures (stitches), or anchors. Some patients may require more comprehensive correction and may achieve better results with a traditional brow lift procedure. One difference is the length of the incisions required to achieve the lifting effect for the individual patient. In either case, the incisions are placed where they are hidden within the hairline.
What Can a Brow Lift Do for My Appearance?
A custom brow lift can create a dramatic improvement in your appearance, leaving you looking refreshed, younger, and more open and appealing. A brow lift can correct the following facial issues:
- Lift a heavy brow
- Smooth the crease at the top of the nose bridge
- Create a more open look to saggy eyelids
- Correct sagging brow tissue
- Smooth a deeply-creased brow
- Eyebrows restored to a youthful position

What is Recovery from Brow Lift Like?
The swelling and bruising peaks at about the third day after your procedure. After about two weeks (as an average), many people feel ready to attend social events with confidence. Older patients may require longer to heal and should plan on more time before arranging to attend an important event.
Every person recovers at a slightly different rate. To help the recovery process, it is important you keep your head and upper body elevated, including during sleep hours. Get sufficient rest, eat healthy foods, consume lots of water, and avoid excess salt and alcoholic beverages.
