If you have lost a significant amount of weight, or have flabby, drooping, or overlarge thighs due to heredity or aging, it can be a source of insecurity.
Excess skin and fat on our thighs can be embarrassing, affecting the figure and appearance, leaving you feeling inhibited and less attractive. A thigh lift is a way to reduce the excess skin and stubborn fat on your thighs and to reshape the contour of your thighs to be firmer and shapelier.
How Will a Thigh Lift Benefit Me?
A thigh lift will benefit you in some of the following ways:
By firming your thighs
Creating a slimmer contour
Reducing the excess skin on the thighs
Removing stubborn fat deposits
Boosting your confidence in your appearance
Most importantly, a thigh lift is your you to feel great about the way you look, and to feel more confident and motivated to stay healthy and in shape.
Who is a Candidate for a Thigh Lift?
Coming in for a consultation with Dr. Rashid is the best way to determine whether you are a candidate for a thigh lift. He will consider your medical history and health and determine whether or not a thigh lift is appropriate for you at this time.
Candidates for thigh lifts are those who:
Have maintained a stable weight for over three months
Struggle with stubborn fat on their thighs
Are non-smokers
Are in good health and safe to undergo cosmetic surgery
A thigh lift procedure generally takes between two to three hours. You will be put under anesthesia and the procedure will be performed through incisions that will be located in discreet areas along the inner thighs.
What About Recovery?
Recovery from thigh lift surgery usually requires a minimum of one week off of work to allow for healing and to prevent stress on the surgical sites. Compression garments will be worn to prevent swelling as well as drainage tubes, which will be removed within the first few days or weeks after surgery depending on the progress of your recovery. Every person heals at a slightly different rate.
A complete list of instructions will be given to you to ensure that your recovery goes as smoothly as possible. Follow up appointments will also be scheduled so that Dr. Rashid can monitor the healing process.
When Will I See the Results of the Thigh Lift Surgery?
Some results will be immediately noticeable, but full results won’t be observable until a few months after surgery. After this time, all swelling and bruising should have subsided, and your thighs will have taken on their new, slimmer more attractive shape.
